Carting or Drafting is a dog sport or activity in which a dog pulls a cart filled with supplies, such as farm goods, groceries or firewood. Carting as a sport is also known as dryland mushing and is practiced all around the world, often to keep winter sled dogs in competition form during the off-season. Nowadays, many breeds, and mixed-breeds, of various sizes, participate in drafting and carting sports. A dog with a job is a happy dog, and having an outlet allows them to display their work ethic.
