Lure Coursing is the sport of having dogs chase a mechanized lure. Today’s courses use an artificial lure, like a plastic bag, attached to a pulley for dogs to chase. Sprinter is open to all CKC and AKC registered dogs or those who have a PEN/PAL registration number (mixed breeds or purebreds with no registration). The event tests the speed of the dog over 100 yards and tests the ability of the dog to follow the lure. Any dog that is in good physical condition and loves to chase or exhibits prey drive is perfect for the sport. Lure coursing is a great way to have some fun and get in some great exercise for your dog!
